MONKEY’S KINGDOM AT UBUD

Placed in the heart of Ubud, Monkey Forest is a must visit point for tourists who never been in Bali. This could be one the biggest Monkey Kingdom in this tiny island, and approximately 700 monkeys are living into this forest. This 10 hectares area include the forest as well Pura Puseh, Pura Desa and Pura Dalem – the 3 major temples in this site. The fee entrance costs only Rp30,000 which this fee considered as a donation and also used for the forests protection expense.

The growing number of tourists are extremely increased here. Nowadays, approximately 15,000 tourists come and the local people here altogether with the foundation recognize that tourism has negative impacts to this sacred forest natural and cultural resources. They don’t want to show and sell only this famous attraction to tourists, but:
  • Educating people about the importance of conserving the Sacred Monkey Forest’s natural and cultural resources.
  • Maintaining a team of highly trained staff members that are responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Sacred Monkey Forest.
  • Monitoring and whenever necessary restoring the integrity of the Sacred Monkey Forest’s natural and cultural resources.
